Dengue and Visual Immersive Storytelling.

To raise awareness about the global impact of Dengue Fever, especially in parts where it’s endemic, we partnered with Takeda to tell a complicated story in a simple yet powerful way; through the eyes of a child. We immersed people into the personal, intimate world of Camilla, a young girl living in Columbia who survived a dengue infection, bringing facts to life through animation while offering glimpses into how her home, family and community were impacted by this infectious disease. It’s a story of halted possibility and potential as Dengue was confirmed to be in the top ten threats to global health by the World Health Organization.

Camilla and the Shadow of Dengue is a fable written as a fairytale with symbolism used to portray threatening undercurrents contrasting with the innocence of Camilla’s youth and dreams. The story was made into a motorized pop-up book that travelled to various Takeda locations around the world.
